Girton Conductors' Course

August 9th - 13th 2021

A residential course with tutors from Sherborne Summer School of Music in the historic setting of Girton College, Cambridge

with John Longstaff (principal accompanist and score study)

Assistant accompanist: Hannah Quinn

Mozart Overture to 'Die Zauberflöte' 
Brahms Symphony No. 2 in D
Debussy Prélude à l’après-midi d’un Faune 
Grieg Holberg Suite 

Course Details

The course will run from lunchtime on Monday to lunchtime on Friday; full schedule to include:

  • ​Daily technique sessions
  • Workshops with a professional pianist in each
  • Score study
  • Orchestral sessions with class orchestra, as permitting
  • Evening sessions with discussion and video analysis (video recording equipment will be provided)

**The course will be fully compliant with any Covid restrictions operating at the time**

​Fees

Resident Participant: £650 (full board including breakfast, lunch, dinner and mid-morning coffee)
En-suite supplement: £60 (optional)
 
Deposit (non-refundable): £175, payable within 10 days of acceptance on to the course.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by participants will result in a refund of any fees paid, minus the deposit.
Cancellation by the organiser will result in a full refund of any monies paid.
